Over at Gingersnap Creations Theres a challenge going on about wings. Although I don't think they expect you to carve your own from wood, Paper will do, as is just about any medium would fit the bill.(no pun intended. LOL)
Although this isn't a new carving. I haven't shared one of my woodcarving for ions. Its a Sharped Shinned hawk I carved from Tupulo gum a type of soft wood. I also carved the glove from the same wood. I carve the shape, use a woodburner to burn in all the feather details, then paint and seal it. The entire process for this one took about two months.

I should not be the least but surprised you created this but on seeing it I acutally thought you had taken a found glove and the bird and created it in that manner. That bird is so realistic, it actually looks like a stuffed bird. WOW. Lynne M x
